| Dear Mel, You are such an inspiration to me. I aspire like you to be at the top and play college basketball (hopefully UCONN) and after reading your book I really saw how much it takes to be at the top and I am ready for it. Hi Mel, I bought and read your book before Christmas and really enjoyed it. You signed it for me at the UHART game signing and you were very gracious. I loaned your book to a 10 year old friend of mine who plays ball on a 6th grade team She enjoyed it very much and we are having fun discussing it. May good luck and love follow you always. |

| Congrats, Melly Mel on the book and making us alums proud. Heck we are proud of all of the UConn family..everybody from the president on down the UConn family tree. We are just so proud of each and everyone of you guys and gals. When you first arrived on campus four years ago, I thought to myself "This young lady is going to be special", and that you have been. From the hardwood to the classroom ,you have worked hard and it shows. Heck you became my favorite player. Hardwork and never giving up, they gotta make a poster with you standing by those words. | You probably don't remember me but I'm the crazy lady who was at the tail end of your New Year's Eve book signing at the XL Center and I blurted out "I Love You"...what I really wanted to say was that I love you and the whole UCONN team for getting us Snow-bound New England folks through the dark days of winter and giving us something exciting to watch and some first-rate athletes to be proud of. I've been watching your team since my daughter (who took our picture) was just a baby and Rebecca Lobo and company won the first of the many championships for UCONN. I've been reading your book whenever I have a minute to spare, and I must say you are inspiring. Any parent would be proud to have you for a daughter, and since I've been watching your team for so long, I feel in a way that you all ARE my daughters. Good luck to you in everything life brings you - you've worked so hard and you deserve the best! | |

After reading your book I have a much better appreciation for what it truly takes to be a UCONN Husky. Your stories further confirm my belief that Gino is a GREAT TEACHER. I GOT YOUR BOOK YESTERDAY AT 11:30 AM AND WENT TO DUNKIN DONUTS FOR MY X-LARGE COFFEE AND BAGEL AND THOUGHT I WOULD JUST READ THE FIRST TWO PAGES, 6 HOURS LATER MY FAVORITE WAITRESS ERICA, TAPPED ME ON THE SHOULDER AND SAID FREDDIE YOU HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 6 HOURS.
